Adam and his OAR Northwest teammates departed Vancouver this morning to circumnavigate Vancouver Island, unassisted, on a 29‐foot ocean rowing boat. The crew will traverse and document the awe inspiring and challenging Inside Passage, also known as the “Grave‐yard of the Pacific.” Their vessel is the most technologically advanced rowing boat in the world, equipped with solar panels, wind turbine power, state of the art scientific and communication equipment. This training adventure will serve as preparation for the team’s trans Atlantic crossing in December 2012. The crew can be tracked live and contacted through their website at OAR Northwest.com
Shaw TV will document this 25-day journey in an eight-episode documentary to air in April and May 2012.
